About Southern Psychiatry

Founded in 2019, Southern Psychiatry was created to address the unique mental health needs of older adults living in assisted living facilities and nursing homes along the Emerald Coast. Led by Renee McCormack, a dedicated and experienced psychiatric nurse practitioner, our practice is grounded in a mission to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care tailored to each individual.

At Southern Psychiatry, we understand the challenges that aging can bring—not just for individuals but for their families and caregivers as well. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for our patients by addressing mental health concerns with a thoughtful, collaborative approach that prioritizes dignity, respect, and understanding.
